STELLA
Hi! My name is Stella!
My mama found me through an adoption agency online. My name then, was Mona Lisa, and she thought it was fate because she has this weird obsession with Mona Lisa. Oddly enough, she changed my name to Stella, because I seemed more like a star. I do not disagree.
When I came home, I was sleeping and tiny... I was sleeping a little too long actually and my Mama got worried. My legs didn’t seem to work properly at all, either. I couldn’t walk. Mama called the adoption agency who swore I was perfectly healthy before I left. They gave her the option of bringing me back... but me and my mama bonded instantly and there was NO way she wouldn’t figure out what was wrong and take care of me.

The vet said I had feline herpes. I was tiny and needed to gain weight and take medicine or else I wouldn’t make it, so mama fed me kitten formula from a medicine dropper. She also gave me ‘skin on fur’ cuddles and we both agree that’s what healed me most!
I gained weight and strength. I was tiny but mighty and I had a lot of help from my new family.

Foxy Lady, the Papillon, was very protective of me. She wanted so much, to sit on me like a hen. I was so tiny she would have squished me, but Mama said it was Foxy’s own mama instincts.

Then there is my Dad. He always makes the funniest sing songs about my name and boy, oh boy, do I like his belly scratches the most! He puts me in a cat-a-tonic state. No pun intended:)

Hunter, my human sister, made me all kinds of snacks and something called “tea.” It was strange, none if it ever tasted like anything... but I really felt nourished just the same!

I love to run around the backyard these days with our newest family member, Charles Barkley. My parents are always coming home with furry friends. Some only stay for awhile until they go to their furrrever home... but Barkley the big white polar bear dog stayed. We roll around together and I like to taunt him with how fast I can run up a tree where he can’t reach me... He’s kind of my boyfriend:)

I am now two years old and bigger than any cat I meet. I am the Queen of everything and my whole family knows it. Especially Max, my super big human brother. He calls me Queen Stella of everything. We like to wrestle around like big cats. He brings out my wild side! Little Hunter laughs so much when we do this.

My mom says I am her spirit animal. We’re side by side as much as can be. She thinks saving my life bonded us in a very different way than she has ever felt. We are best friends furrrever:)

Luxe Paws
Luxe Paws is a part time, volunteer street rescue effort laser-focused on TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) spay/neuter & rescue for the youngest, most at-risk kitties in the LA neighborhoods of Los Feliz/Silver Lake/Echo Park. Our ultimate goal is to inspire a community based spay/neuter model which, if replicated across LA, would PREVENT unwanted animals suffering on the street and being killed at our city shelters.
